Mission Statement
The ACOA will provide legislative representation for state employees of the ADOC. This is to ensure the officers, staff, retirees and have results including sustainable benefits to each individual for safety, training, policies and procedures, resources, funding, facilities, leadership, and rehabilitation in order to perform their duties without unnecessary burdens.
ACOA Plan of Action
- Meet with various Alabama Correctional Officers and Staff
- Listen
- Identify and prioritize key areas of concern
- Develop realistic solutions to identifiable issues
- Cultivate these solutions into legislative reform
- Work cohesively with the Alabama Department of Corrections and the Alabama Legislature.
- Create systemic change for Alabama Correctional Officers and Staff
Why ACOA?
- The founders of this ACOA have one goal, better working conditions for Alabama Correctional Officers and Staff.
- The impetus for this effort is a direct result from the lack of safety protocols in an Alabama Correctional Facility.
- Alabama Correctional Officers and Staff deserve better!
